Q. What Is The Difference Between Deductibles, Co-Insurance and Co-Pay?
A. A deductible is an annual amount that the patient is responsible for before the insurance company will provide benefits.
A. Co-Insurance is the percentage amount that the insurance does not cover once the deductible is met. Example: 80/20 plan means the insurance pays 80% and the patient pays the remaining 20%.
A. Co-Pay amounts are a fixed dollar amount the patient is responsible for. This may be in lieu of or combined with deductibles and co-insurance. Example: $25 Co-Pay for spinal manipulation but a deductible and co-insurance for xrays.
Q. What Health Insurances Cover Chiropractic?
A. As a courtesy we have provided links below to the most common major health insurance companies that serve our area:

Piedmont Community Health
Cigna
United Health Care

Medicare

Q. Do I Need A Referral To Go To A Doctor of Chiropractic?
A. This all depends on your insurance. Doctors of Chiropractic are portal of entry physicians, which means that they are licensed and qualified to accept new patients just as medical doctors do, without a referral. However, some insurance plans do require that you have a referral from your medical doctor. It is always best to check with your insurance plan to see what your benefits and requirements are.
